The Vandoren Masters mouthpiece is a radical new design not seen in any previous Vandoren models. The outer shape of the mouthpiece is conical providing more room to redesign the chamber which is unlike any chamber Vandoren has designed. The Masters mouthpieces are very easy blowing and have exceptional sound and tuning characteristics. The outer shape is so unique that it can only be used with specially designed M series M/O metal ligatures or with flexible ligatures, like Leather or Klassik Vandoren ligatures. No conventional ligature will fit the conical design. The Masters mouthpiece comes in two facings: the CL4 and CL5. “It’s an extraordinary step,” commented Vandoren artist relations manager David Gould. “The design is so unique it will take the clarinetist a little longer to adapt to it.
